The Ministry of Education of Singapore designates 31 August of each year as the All Children Exercising Simultaneously (ACES) Day to support the annual National Healthy Lifestyle Campaign. ACES Day serves to promote physical activity and fitness and is conducted in an enjoyable and non-competitive spirit of group participation. On this occasion, about 500,000 students from the age of seven to 18 years, studying in the primary, secondary and pre-university levels will perform creative workouts chosen by their schools.

Reflections on ACES in Singapore

There are always interesting stories that surface each year concerning Project ACES. Here is one of my favorites.
A few years ago, a girl from an elementary school located in the United States found out her family was moving to the country of Singapore. She loved her present school and the interesting projects they participated in every year, which included Project ACES.
Once they moved to Singapore, she missed her friends and former school very much. On her first day of school in Singapore, she walked in the main entrance and saw a bulletin board of her new school participating in Project ACES from the previous year. She wrote me a letter saying, "...although she was homesick, Project ACES on the bulletin board at her new school in Singapore made her feel right at home!"
