American Heart Association Celebrating Jump Rope For Heart 25th Anniversary Throughout New Jersey on Project ACES Day, May 5

New Jersey Schools Urged To Join Celebration and “Just Jump!”

North Brunswick, NJ, March 31, 2004 … For 25 years American Heart Association Jump Rope For Heart has helped children improve their activity levels, learn the value of a healthy lifestyle and make a difference in the fight against heart disease and stroke – New Jersey’s No. 1 and No. 3 causes of death. Jump Rope For Heart, a national service-learning program promoting education, physical activity and raising dollars to fund research, is co-sponsored annually by the American Heart Association and the American Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (APHERD). Over the past 25 years Jump Rope For Heart has made a difference in the lives of thousands of New Jersey children.

This year American Heart Association Jump Rope For Heart is celebrating 25 years of physical activity, living healthy and saving lives. Project ACES joins with the American Heart Association to encourage schools throughout New Jersey to “just jump” on Project ACES Day on Wednesday, May 5 between 10:00 and 10:30 am to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Jump Rope For Heart. Imagine 25,000 New Jersey kids jumping to celebrate 25 years of Jump Rope For Heart. The American Heart Association and Project ACES is asking all students to simultaneously jump together throughout New Jersey from 10:15 to 10:20 am on May 5. We are trying to set a New Jersey record for the most people jumping simultaneously.

Jump with ropes or without jump rope. Jump in place. Jump up and down. Jump out on the playground or in the gym. Jump in the classroom, jump in the hallways or jump in the lunchroom, but just jump! Help set a New Jersey record for the most people jumping on the same day at the same time while observing Project ACES Day and celebrating the 25th anniversary of Jump Rope For Heart. The 25th anniversary Jump Rope For Heart celebration is supported by Project ACES, New Jersey APHERD and the New Jersey Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. On Wednesday, May 5, join the celebration. Get your students, teachers and administration jumping!
