2004 Participation
North Carolina is on board with ACES! Not only was ACES a success, but the students loved participating. All the school organizers impressed me with their creativity. This event arrived the same week as End of Grade testing, but we still received 84% participation. One physical education teacher commented, "everybody could use a relief of pressures from the End of Grade testing right now." A principal said "the children liked it so much they are going to try to implement ACES every week!" Certificates and special gifts were distributed to each participating school. Next year, I am planning to join forces with the American Heart Association to make the event an even bigger success.
